How to setup email on an Android phone

IMPORTANT:
This guide is for Franklins Corporation hosted email clients only. If you are not subscribed to our services please contact your email provider for assistance configuring your Android device.

Setting up your email is relatively straightforward, no matter what operating system you're running. The basic information you will need to set up an account is:

·      Email address or Username - enter the emailaddress you wish to receive/send mail with.
·      Password - the password of the email accountyou're using.
·      Server Protocol - We recommend IMAP as yourprotocol.
·      Incoming Mail Server – mail.yourdomain.com
·      Outgoing Mail Server - mail.yourdomain.com
·      SSL (or Security type) - SSL or SSL/TLS

Follow the steps in your phone's default mail app to easily setup your email.

1.    Go to Add Account in the email app.
2.    On the “Set up Email” screen select other
3.    Enter your business email address
4.    Enter your password for your email
5.    Click sign in
6.    Select IMAP account
7.    On the “Server Setting” Screen do the following
8.    Under “IMAP Server” enter mail.yourdomain.com(Replace yourdomain with your actual domain.
9.    Under “SMTP Server” enter mail.yourdomain.com(Replace yourdomain with your actual domain.
10.  Clicknext
11.  Onthe “Manual setup” screen do the following
12.  Change“Email Sync Period” to All time
13.  Change“Email Sync Schedule" to Auto (When received)
14.  Onthe “Edit Names” Screen do the following
15.  Under“Account Name” enter a name for that email account. Ex. Support
16.  Under“Your Name” enter a name that you want people to see when receiving your email
17.  Click Done
